Many thanks to everyone who has worked on this over the years, especially SylviaC, humouress and AHS-Wolfy.

If you are unsure of how to update/add your info here are the instructions:

The following are to be completed if you don't already have an entry...

Step 1: Follow the link at the top of this post.

Step 2: On the Contents list, click on the corresponding letter of the first letter in your username.

Step 3: On the right side of the page click edit that is on the same line as the single letter (may have to scroll up just a tiny bit to see it.

Step 4: Find where you fit alphabetically and just copy and paste the formatting of an existing title (changing it to your own name obviously).

Step 5: Open your own reading journal thread in a new tab and copy the link (excluding from the # mark at the end (if there is one).

Step 6: Return to the wiki and paste your thread link on the line under your name that you've previously added (see step 4) and also add a year denominator at the start of this line.

Step 7: click in the captcha box (near the bottom of the page where it asks you t confirm you're not a robot) and complete any captcha that is required.

If you think you've messed up badly at this stage then you can always press Cancel. Once you're sure everything is okay...

Step 8: Press Save Changes.

You're done!

If you already have an entry...

After step 1 click on your name from the contents list, press the edit on the same line as your name, then follow steps 5 through 8 above.

>15 Karlstar: What are you looking at? You have to click on the link in the first post. I have been updating my own links, as have a bunch of people. I have told people if they don't know how to do it themselves they should ask for help. I can see yours was last updated in 2020.

>16 clamairy: At the time I posted that, the link in the first post was giving me a 504 error, consistently, so then I went to the old link at the top and tried to find a new page and failed. It works fine now. Must have just been a LT issue and I was being impatient.

Just a reminder, quite a few of you have not updated your person thread links here:

https://wiki.librarything.com/index.php/**Master_Thread**_Personal_Reading_Journ...

If you can't remember how to do it, or are unsure about it, you can just post a reply here (or send me a note) and I will take care of it for you.

>31 Alexandra_book_life: It's pretty easy and I'll try and step it out here for you (and anyone else who hasn't done this before).

The following are to be completed if you don't already have an entry...

Step 1: Follow the link in clam's post above (this one).

Step 2: On the Contents list, click on the corresponding letter of the first letter in your username.

Step 3: On the right side of the page click edit that is on the same line as the single letter (may have to scroll up just a tiny bit to see it.

Step 7: click in the captcha box (near the bottom of the page where it asks you t confirm you're not a robot) and complete any captcha that is required.

If you think you've messed up badly at this stage then you can always press Cancel. Once you're sure everything is okay...

Step 8: Press Save Changes.

You're done!

if you already have an entry on the wiki for preceding years then after step 1 click on your name from the contents list, press the edit on the same line as your name, then follow steps 5 through 8 above.

Hope this helps. Can send me a message at any time if you need to ask a question or require further help (though I usually only check back once or twice a day). Or post here and I'm sure others will be more than happy to help out too.

Hopefully with the step-by-step guide more people will realise it's not such a daunting task after all. Maybe you could add it to the opening post of this thread too so it doesn't just get lost with ongoing posts.
