Just tell us what you have to say and don't laugh at the dog. Someone is going to pay for this!!!

Sorry guys! I have been so sick this week, I've only just finished the March 2020 Americana Challenge. It can be found here:

After much thought, I have reached a decision which may have a big effect on my reading schedule over the next few months. With the current fears regarding the spread of coronavirus in the UK, I am temporarily curtailing my borrowing of physical books from the library.
I have loads of books at home, anyway, which I should be concentrating on, and I have access to library ebooks, so I won't be short of reading material. However, some of the books we have highlighted for our group reads may not now be accessible to me if they can only be found on the shelves of the local library.
It may seem drastic, but I personally feel this is a sensible precaution to take.

>3 Sergeirocks: You just stay safe no matter what it takes. We can't imagine anything bad happening to you. Hopefully this thing will run it's course and everybody can go back to just being worried about being annihilated by some third world country with a nuclear devise. Just be sure to keep in touch with us. If your library offers it's members access to Overdrive and Hoopla you should be able to get most of out group reads there.

Unfortunately the virus does seem to be taking hold. The media would have you scared of your own shadow! Even talk of shutting schools on the one hand, or having to have bigger classes if staff off ill. Not sure how you fit these bigger classes into small classrooms!

>4 Carol420: >3 Sergeirocks: My local libraries do have access to ebooks and audiobooks but limited books available in these. Only the ones each library buys into.

As it stands below are the planned group reads for the rest of the year. Given Sergei’s comments above which seem very pertinent the way the Coronavirus outbreak is developing and spreading, can people post let me know which of the books below at the moment they are able to get hold of. Then I can see if we can schedule any group reads at the current time. 😊

1. The Collectors by David Baldacci, #2 in the Camel Club Series
2. The Devil Colony by James Rollins, #7 in the Sigma Force Series

1. The Black Ice by Michael Connelly, #2 in the Harry Bosch Universe
2. The Bishop’s Pawn by Steve Berry, #13 in the Cotton Malone Series

>10 Andrew-theQM: I'm planning on The Black Ice and Where Shadows Dance. I may also participate in either When Maidens Mourn or one of the Marsons books. I'm able to get all of those.

I have...or rather the library has...everything except...
The Gallery of The Dead - Chris Carter
The Gathering Dark - James Oswald
Lost Girls - Angela Marsons
The Scent of Death - Simon Becket
Play Dead - Angela Marsons
Cold As The Grave - James Oswald
Hunting Evil - Chris Carter

The library will get them for me but they are not currently in the physical library or on Overdrive or Hoopla. These are the authors that they always have to order for me...but they don't mind.

Thus far the virus hasn't been found anywhere in Michigan.

>13 Carol420: Over 300 known cases in the U.K. and think 5 deaths so far. 😢 All for people with underlying medical conditions. As of tea time yesterday around 18 cases in our region. But case numbers growing.

Once I have got peoples responses I will set up a revised schedule for the current time. Stay safe and healthy!

As of right now, I have or can get from the library/amazon all except The Scent of Death which I would have to order and would need about 2 months lead time on

Thanks to a couple of reading buddies who are willing to share their ebooks with me, I'm good to go, 👍
Without them, I must admit, I was going to struggle to get hold of the books. I'd have hated to miss out on our group reads...

Looks like everyone has access to The Collectors by David Baldacci. Will people be in a position to start this Sunday or do you want to leave it until next Thursday to give people time to get hold of the book. I think we all need something to take our mind off Coronavirus!

>18 Andrew-theQM: I was thinking those exact words, Andrew, we need something to take our minds off coronavirus.
It seems to have gone very quiet on LT over the last few days...

22Carol420
Mrz. 14, 2020, 8:55 am

>21 Sergeirocks: LT may be all we have for awhile...you can talk to people you like and not have to worry about getting less than 6 feet from them. Every school in 30 of the 50 states are closed until April 6 or 13 and every event is either cancelled or postponed. So...Library Thing or/and Goodreads it is.
