Time to think about our group reads for the next two months. Please nominate up to two books you'd like to see as a group read, and second as many nominated books as you like.
I'll set up a poll in about a week.

I would like to nominate Goodbye to Berlin by Christopher Isherwood. We read his Mr. Norris Changes Trains a couple of months ago and I would like to read his other "Berlin" story. Also I am in the mood for a fantastical adventure read so I nominate She by H. Rider Haggard as well.

I would like to nominate The Book of Disquiet and The Third Wedding.

I second The Book of Disquiet, and Goodbye to Berlin, and I nominate two short books: The Birds by Tarjei Vesaas, and The Magician of Lublin by Isaac Bashevis Singer.

Can I retract The Birds and instead nominate the very topical Passing , a classic about race in America? Also short.
7DeltaQueen50
Although I have read Passing, I am happy to see it nominated and seconded - it was very good. I will second The Magician of Lublin.

Somehow the poll has been set up so that you can only vote for one book. Can that be changed?

>9 annamorphic: Apologies, it's been four months since I set up a poll and forgot about ticking various boxes!

And I can see from the results that by "reset" you mean that is a completely new poll and I needed to vote again. :)

>11 ELiz_M: True. There is no "edit" function on these polls so I've deleted the first one.

Looks like the next group reads will be Passing by Nella Larson and The Magician of Lublin by Isaac Bashevis Singer. I’ll set these up at the start of August and September.
