Western romance book

I’m trying to find the name of this book. The plot is the father dies/murdered on way home from town after finding out on his ranch that there is gold. His daughter takes over ranch after he dies but all the ranch hands are leaving to go over to the next ranch because she is a girl. Then there is a guy that comes to the ranch and asks her for a job. Unknown to her that her dad asked him by letter before he died to come to the ranch to protect his daughter and the guy felt obligated to because her dad helped his father when his father needed money.
