I used LibraryThing for years, I paid a lifetime membership very soon after I discovered it more than 12 years ago and it's always been awesome and I loved it. And never wrote to say 'thank you' even if I should have.

And now I discovered TinyCat and I have to say it: thank you so much! I am always leaving books in little free libraries around and it's always been a hassle to track down what book and where it went (just to satisfy my OCD). I even wrote an Android app to make it easier. But now that I discovered TinyCat I have a way to this so much easier (still a bit involved process but it really helps me), the Hold/Checkout features are exactly what I needed, where my "patrons" are actually little free libraries around. And since this is just me tracking my books it's also free. Simply awesome!

So... Thank you!

What a lovely note, and a lovely use for TinyCat! I'm so glad you're enjoying it. I will be sure to pass this onto the LT developers who will love to hear your feedback.

Thank you!

Thanks a lot for your quick reply. After playing a bit more with the options I have available, I decided to go with Ask About This. Hold/Checkout doesn't let me add patrons on the fly but in my Android app I can populate the From field in the Ask About This form with the "patron", i.e. the little free library location. This was possible because you allow adding custom JavaScript code on the pages, which is yet another awesome feature!

BTW, is there an API call to help get the list of patrons? Now I am exporting them from the site and importing them in my app so it's doable but I was wondering if I can make a call to get the list instead.

Again, thanks for all you do!

Great use of the custom JS, glad you're liking it!

Alas, we do not have any APIs for TinyCat at this time. We'll be sure to announce any changes on that front. Sorry for the inconvenience.
