The Love Note by Joanna Davidson Politano

Set in 1859 Willa Duvall is career oriented and not focused on finding a man to marry. She has turned down several marriage proposals to her Father's dismay. She takes a (nursing) job for a woman at Crestwicke Manor. Once there she finds a love letter, this has her intrigued and wanting to learn more about the Author of the letter. As time goes by she begins to unravel the mystery and learn about the family and residents at Crestwicke.

The plot is original and moves at a steady pace. The characters are well developed. Willa is a woman who is determined and knows what she wants out of life. Although being a "spinster" and career oriented was not so popular during this era, she is very likable. The story has many layers, with plot twists, turns, and secrets revealed. Love, loss, family and a bit of faith made The Love Note a perfect read. I highly recommend to those who enjoy a great Victorian Romance.
