Adding to a series resets internal groups

Since last night (GMT), when I add a work to a series from the work page, all groups in the series revert to the Core group and have to be reset to the correct group. Fine for a straightforward series, but unworkable for a large comic-book series.
To test, go to Bill Willingham's Fables. Open one of the collected volumes (I've done up to #7), click on the Add to Series/Relationships link, enter Fables Issues in the search box. Click the correct link, and enter the issue numbers in the pop-up, selecting collections and selections and add to bottom. Click save, and scroll down the list of works. The added work is at the bottom of the list, and all works, including other collections and the one-shot are displayed with 'Core' selected. You have to re-select the correct group otherwise the confirmation 'Save' resets everything to Core.

I'm seeing the "Core" for all works just before saving/adding a new work to a series.
Example: from https://www.librarything.com/nseries/works/34258, I added the 3rd work to the series Wonky Donkey. The sticker book, which was showing under "Related" works was reset to "Core" just before saving and adding the new work. So something there is not grabbing the right Groups for that page.

>1 Maddz: Last night between 10:22 and 11:19 (CST), I tried at least 3 times to classify "4-in-1" bundles as "Collections and Selections" and each time they reset themselves to "Core" after I added a new title to the Core series. I finally gave up trying to reclass them.

NOTE added during edit: I did not originally reclass them to "core" like the Global Series Edit History indicates I did. They were "Core" to begin with. Very confusing.

>3 Conkie: Yes, you have to reset them when you add a new work... It's why I've given up (temporarily) adding the collected Fables trade paperbacks to the Fables Issues series.

This is still happening, and destroying data every time sometime tries to add/change something in a series, which is pretty distressing (especially for large series).

>6 hf22: Ditto comment. Originally, the new group titles still existed, so it wasn't such a pain to re-do, but starting this a.m., I have to type in a few letters before the group titles appear again.

I'll add that unless there's an archive to revert things to the way they were, I've got a lot of work to do because of this. I put together a ~275 work series, and there are dozens of works I'll have to look up again to figure out which group they properly fit into.

>9 gabriel: You could try printing off the series page before you add in?

yes, please fix this soon, it is almost impossible to add a work to a large series the way it now.

Sorry, folks, I've just pinged developers about this one again. Thanks for your patience.

>12 kristilabrie: Please see new posting to: Unwanted Series Author Added https://www.librarything.com/topic/324375#n7391570, opened last Sept, as I believe that issue is related in some way to this one. Thanks in advance.

No such luck. I discovered the problem by adding a work to the series, so unless the developers can restore the old structure, it's all gone. Maybe I'll check the wayback machine just on the offchance...

>14 gabriel: I have a nasty feeling you may be right; one of the series I'd been working on had some custom groups and they are no longer available to select.
16kristilabrie
Okay: can anyone check to see if this looks good for them? This should be fixed.

This is fixed. Thanks for the descriptions.

Looks fine now, but the new groups I'm sure I added to Mage: The Hero Discovered have disappeared (in that they are no longer available to select).

>18 Maddz: Okay. What Groups did you add to that Series?
20kristilabrie
I believe that empty Groups just don't get saved on the page (which unfortunately was forced empty by this bug). You'll probably have to add them again. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

>19 kristilabrie: I can't remember offhand - they were groups relating to the publication history of the series in that there were the 15 originally published comics from 1984(?), the original collected editions, the 8 reprints from 1989(?), the 4 reprints from 2017... They all collect different comics, and without that grouping, it looks a mess.
They aren't my comics, they are the man's; all I was doing was cataloguing them before they got stored.
I guess I'll have to recreate them.
