Tag Cloud for a Collection

I'd love for the LT engine to create a tag cloud restricted to whatever collection I have selected. That way I could get a visual of a subset of my library, instead of always the whole thing, which basically always looks the same.

It’s easy to create a new collection on the fly, and LT seems to handle those with ease for other purposes.

That would be useful, so +1

Ok, taking blue sky to the next level: how about running the tag mirror (community cloud) on a collection, and then clicking on any tag in the graphic to apply that tag to all my books that use that tag in the community cloud. That way I could tag all science fiction (or a dozen other categories) in my library at once, rather than searching or checking checkboxes. (I've just entered 1000 books without tags, and am dreaming about shortcuts.)

>6 dhm: Tim is against that type of thing because he believes the crowd sourcing works better when people come up with their own tags rather than just copying each other's tags.

I like that answer, food for thought.

>6 dhm: This won't help you add info to your books using crowd-sourced data, but there is a "power edit" feature in your catalog view (the little lightning bolt symbol) which allows you to do things like batch add tags to a bunch of books at once.

Please be careful if you do use Power Edit. That feature can spead up data entry, but it's also finicky enough to cause unintended data loss.
