Diacritical marks not displaying in Languages?

I have 4 books written in the Tigré language.
In the language column of my catalogue, and in the book details, the language is displayed as Tigr (whether primary or original).
See, for instance:
https://www.librarything.com/work/25978530/details/

There's the same problem with some of the other languages I've tested - Volapk, Provenal (to 1500), Moor, Luiseo, G, Aljama...

Norwegian (Bokmål) displays correctly so it looks as though it's just a problem with the extended set of languages.

(Firefox 84.0.2 (64-bit))

Confirmed in catalog view. Passing to devs, thanks for the report!

We need to replicate this with source-adding—find the source they used to add it, and see if it's still broken.

>3 timspalding: No, it's not a source problem - it's a LibraryThing display problem.

timspalding (#3):

The issue appears in the OP's catalog for multiple sources including manual entry. The mark does show correctly in the dropdown list of languages when choosing a language.

1. go to your Display Style Settings (https://www.librarything.com/settings/display) and make sure that Language is in one of the Styles.
2. go to https://www.librarything.com/catalog/newcrossbooks?&deepsearch=People%27s%20... and look at the only title in that search.

Bug: We're not displaying Tigré properly. (tested in Chrome)
