Why do I own 15 books, but only 4 show up?

On http://www.librarything.com/author/coetzeejm it says: "You have 15 books and 14 works by J. M. Coetzee." These show up in the list of "Works by J.M. Coetzee" on the same page, accompanied by the green marker sign. That's fine. When I click on one of these works, my copy shows up.

But in the "Your Books" tab, only 4 are displayed, after searching for "Coetzee". Same thing with http://www.librarything.com/catalog.php?author=coetzeejm

Any clue where this rather huge (15 vs. 4) discrepancy originates from?

I'll bet you are searching in your "Eerste druk" collection.

Because if I look at your catalogue using "All Collections" or "Your Library", I see all 15.

You're right, Lilithcat. It was due to the fact that, somehow, my "Eerste druk" collection was "on". It would have taken me a long time to find that out, because I feel that this subset of all books is not very clearly marked. Maybe that's just my feeling. Anyway, thanks for solving this one!

You're welcome!

It's actually pretty common for people to think books are missing when they're really looking at a smaller collection. So you are not alone!

Years ago, for search results like this there was a "X books in all collections, click to see" toggle when you did a search within a single collection. Tim got rid of it for some reason, which is irritating. (I've never had problems knowing which collection I'm in - it's clearly marked in the upper left and I have it as a column in my preferred catalog view - but I do sometimes want to see all the books, and that was an easy way to do it.)
