This compact instruction book on sustainability and the environment is dense with carefully constructed pedagogy with ten detailed lesson plans, worksheets for classroom reproduction, reliable resources in online and print formats, bibliographic resources, and a chart of Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Whether using this in a classroom or home-school setting, the materials used by the students are easily accessible and inexpensive. The emphasis is on critical thinking through investigation, extension activities, and reflection and begins with a children’s book title to jump start this chain of events listed in Appendix A. The authors are firmly rooted in Early Childhood Education and thus offer no time-line for each lesson’s progress. It could be that the students’ prior knowledge will affect how quickly they delve into the content; the teacher may need to prepare students for some of the terminology by contextualizing it (e.g. sexism in Activity 3.2 prior to lessons. A valuable resource in both print and/or pdf. Format from the publisher.

Please do not put reviews of ER books here. There is a separate group for that: http://www.librarything.com/ngroups/8506/Reviews-of-Early-Reviewers-Books

Putting a review here does not get credited for future ER wins. For that you have to review in your entry.
