about pages & dates

Hello,

still don't know very much beyond the basics of this site-.... two questions:

1. is there a page checker keeping tally of all the pages that have been read? not a big deal- just curious. I read someone make a joke about weighing books read by pound- so... quien sabe?

2. is there a way to view all the books that one has read by date?. specifically this year, for instance

3. Bonus Round: speaking of dates, is there a way to put in multiple readings of a book? For instance, I read a book in 1975; read it again in the 1990's; read it again in the new century, etc etc.

Thank you

Eg

>1 EGBERTINA: I can answer the last one: yes, there definitely is. If you go to the page for your book and look at the "Dates" section, you see "(more)" at the right of the little calendar icons. Click it and you get another pair of calendar icons, which work the same way.

To see all the books you've read this year, the quickest way is probably to sort by the "finished" column if you have that showing. Others who know more will probably chime in with other suggestions.

1) There is no internal tracker for reading outside of the dates. The two easiest ways to total pages (if you've got them listed in your catalog) is 1) to create a collection for the year, place all books read into that collection, then export to excel or b) sort your library by finished date, and export to excel.

2) Same as the previous answer, with one addition. Sort by Finish Date, create a Date Read tag, or create a collection.

I use tags to group dates read together - a year tag (2021) and a month/year tag (2/21) as well as start and finish dates. There is also a group list for books read in a given year. You can find it on the Lists page which you can probably see from your home page.

I use tags to track reading as well: 'read {year}' for first-time reads and 'reread {year}' for rereads.
