Pick 3 Mini Challenge – April 2021

Remember that you may combine 3 books from any of the categories any way you wish. You may choose one book from 3 different ones; 3 books from the same; 2 from one and 1 from another etc.…just so you end up with 3

April is known for beautiful spring flowers... the start of warmer weather...and it's right about the time when the Easter Bunny will make an appearance!

1. We know it is the fourth month of the year, but that’s only by the Gregorian calendar that we adhere to now. It was previously the fifth month in the earlier Julian calendar.

2. Those of us that were born in April have the diamond as our birthstone, which represents innocence. Our birth flower is either a Daisy or a Sweet Pea.

3. There are quite a few notable historical people born in April, such as Leonardo da Vinci, William Shakespeare, Adolph Hitler, Queen Elizabeth II., and ME!!! (Oh…sorry…I’m not very notable)

4. On April 15, 1912 the famous Titanic ship hit an iceberg and sunk on her first and only voyage.

5. If you are a car enthusiasts… Ford unveiled their first Mustang on April 17, 1964, costing $2,368.

6. One of the most well-known dates of April, is of course April Fools’ Day on April 1. No one is sure where this originated from, but some believe it to be inspired by Geoffrey Chaucer’s story in “Canterbury Tales” called “Nun’s Priest’s Tale.” And no one in this challenge will have to make the choice to read anything by Chaucer…unless you just want to:)

7. And of course, as we all know, “April showers bring May flowers,” so if the rain of April ever gets you down, never forget that there is a silver lining!
