I am trying to add a book to the new Caribbean site. It is called Don’t Make Me Turn This Life Around by Camille Págan. It did not come up in the search. So I searched in regular search and also got no results. It is in my catalog. Cannot figure out why no search results.

Don't make me Turn this Life Around
I managed to find it by reducing the number of words to search for.
Turn Life Around brought it up as the third item in the list.

>2 gilroy: thanks, I will try that. However, search should not work that way. Many titles are long these days and search should accommodate them.

I suspect it's the apostrophe in "don't" that is causing the search to fail, not the length of the title. I know there have been bugs with apostrophes before.

Okay, very weird:
1. I used the site search box at the top-right of this page to search for "Don't Make Me Turn This Life Around". Zero results.
2. I removed the "Don't" from the site search results page (the main search box on the actual page), and got the correct work as the only search result.
3. I added "Don't" back in, and got the correct work as the only search result.
Something breaking only on the first search attempt?

Got it. I copied the title as >1 Micheller7: posted it and pasted it into the search. Then typed "don't" back in at step 3 mentioned in >6 kristilabrie:. Something about the apostrophe Micheller7 is using. I'll test and see if we can get a fix on this.
ETA: thanks to norabelle414 and knerd.knitter for the clue!

For devs to reproduce:
1. Copy/paste the title in >1 Micheller7: into the site search. get zero results.
2. remove the "Don't" and enter your own "Don't"/apostrophe. get the search result.
Something about smart/curly quotes is breaking the site search.

Glad you are getting to the bottom of this. Thanks.

I just noticed a similar thing with the touchstone for The Kellys and the O’Kellys:
— with a straight quote it goes to the main work page: The Kellys and the O'Kellys
— with a right-slanted quote (which you get by default on iPad) it goes to a zero-copy work and the correct page doesn’t show up under “others”: The Kellys and the O’Kellys

>10 thorold: Seeing as Touchstones use site search, that makes sense. Hopefully we can fix this sooner than later!

>10 thorold: That particular instance of the problem could probably be fixed by just combining the work pages. I've left it alone as a test case.
