Found: Fantasy Book from Middle School Years

It had a title like Enchantress, enchanting or sorceress or something along those lines. It definitely was a one word title. I read it about 1973 to 1976, so it is an older book. I don't remember the plot but it was a book that left a great feeling for a kid in middle school. It I think, involved traveling back or forward in time for the main character. I remember one piece where they were descripting soda pop from the point of view of someone from the middle ages--a wonderful elixir or something like that. This was in my teacher's classroom set of books and had a hardback slightly more green than turquoise cover with I think white blocking on the spine with black lettering. I know this is rather vague, but I hope you can help. The author was also one that I didn't 'know' as a kid from sci-fi and fantasy reading--but that doesn't mean it couldn't have been a well known author either.

This is Enchantress from the Stars by Sylvia Louise Engdahl. The soda pop scene is unmistakable. The "enchantress is from a more advanced planet than the man's.
