Limited Editions Club Social Media Series

Hope it is ok to post this here, if not let me know and I can remove.

We have done the soft launch for our social media account for my upcoming website www.rarecollections.co.za. The social media will very much be about sharing new finds, exploring and reviewing books. One of our first projects which will probably run for several years is documenting all of the limited editions clubs books, with awesome photo's, a brief write up and so on. we will post more complete write ups eventually on our website that can hopefully also be a resource to find information on the various books.

In time I'll also release easy to download info files, check list and the like. We are very much open to feedback and suggestions (and corrections!) so will be good to have some fellow LEC devotees on there to keep things in line. I will eventually do Heritage club as well.

I'll also do detailed post and articles on some of the interesting finds in my collection.

LEC will be a big focus, but won't be limited to that either.

Hope to see many of your there

>1 rocklands: for a hobbyist social media site, this seems fine (even welcome!) but if the "social media account" is associated with an upcoming storefront or site with commercial intent, I think you should disclose that fact.

The Facebook page has a subtitle that says "Collectibles Store" but I imagine that might be some built-in categorization from Facebook intended to facilitate monetization?

In any case, some clarification would be nice.

(I am not an admin here or anything; just speaking for myself.)

>2 abysswalker: The social media will be linked to a site with commercial intent, yes. I think I have mentioned it a few times. However the social media will predominantly feature books in my own collection and not for sale. I want to create a bit of a resource on LEC books in particular. Even the commercial site is part of a hobby and not a purely commercial venture.

Having said that I'm new here and it is not my intent to go against the spirit and rules of this group. I think what we want to do, will be of interest to people here, but I'll happily remove the post and any references if it is problematic

As someone who runs a blog on the LEC and Heritage Press myself, I think additional resources on these books online would be welcome!

I've had to personally clarify multiple times that my collection is NOT for sale or that I am not buying items through the blog (it got to the point I needed to restrict comments), so if your project has a commercial element, even if it's not distinctly associated with your piece of the overall project, you're going to need to be very clear upfront about the book in question is not for sale. And even then, it'll still happen.

Just a word of warning to be as transparent as possible to minimize personal frustrations :)

For those interested we started the first book feature on social media, starting with Gulliver 1929. The feature is broken up over 8 post and roughly he format we will follow for other books.

If you are interested in us adding other categories or information let us know on sm and if possible we will add that

For now we will alternate each LEC feature with a non-LEC book. The next book will be a 1st edition Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy 1979 Arthur Baker
