I've been in Connecticut and Maine with two teenaged sisters who went missing for 3 years but only 1 returns with a very complicated story. It's Emma in the Night by Wendy Walker.

I've been in Maine again with a police chief trying to figure out who will be killed next based on predictions from an unearthed time capsule. It's Without Warning by David Rosenfelt.

I have been in Norfolk, East Anglia with Dr Ruth Galloway in Crossing Places by Elly Griffiths- apologies as touchstones will not pick up the title of this first novel featuring the brilliant forensic archaeologist.
Many thanks to members of this group as it was through looking at past group reads that I picked up on this terrific book. Ms Griffiths writes brilliantly with a terrific sense of place and in Ruth and DI Nelson has created two great characters. Lucky me, to have the rest of this series yet to read.

>4 Maura49: I'm so glad to see that you enjoyed Ruth and Nelson. We've been doing that series as a group read for quiet some time. We're behind on several of our series reads since Andrew, our "Question Master", has had his hands full with the school that he runs and now more personally with the virus. Hopefully we'll be back to "normal" soon and can resume our reads.

>7 gaylebutz: If you like the books you might also like the DVD's. All 4-or 5 of her early books including this one is on DVD. Shetland Island... another of her series is also on DVD. Oh ...and her Vera series also. There is several seasons of Vera on DVD but the first season is all based on her books.

>8 Carol420: I've read and enjoyed quite a few of her books. I should take a look at the DVDs. Good suggestion!
