About halfway through The Gutter Prayer right now. I'm struggling with it a bit... not really finding much connection with the characters.

I'm currently visiting both England—witnessing the chaos as Ruth murders and burns her way across London in Personal Darkness—and Tucson, Arizona—enjoying the desert atmosphere and mediating on the meaning of art and poetry with The Wood Wife.

I’m just leaving Elantra where Kaylin, Severn and companions were Cast in Courtlight.

I'm fighting the Lucent Queendom with The Maleficent Seven :)

Currently visiting an alt-Indian country whose name has too many syllables for me to remember, in The Jasmine Throne.

Finished Battle Ground, the latest Dresden Files book. I like the series, but it does suffer from the common supernatural series syndrome of continuous escalation of powers of both protagonist & foes. But he does manage to carry it off, still. Despite the fact that the entire book was one continuous slugfest, he manages to keep enough human interest in it to flesh it out. There are few series that I've been willing to carry through this many volumes, but I'm up for the next one.

Just spent some time in London with Alex Verus, in Burned. It's basically Dresden Files translated into England, but Jacka does it well & with some twists of his own. For some reason I lost sight of the series several years ago, so now I have several more to read. Anyone who can convincingly present a giant hairy spider as a sympathetic motherly character deserves respect. :-)

I've just finished a visit to Ankh-Morpork, where Moist von Lipwig was Going Postal. Not sure yet where I'm going next.
