Just opened Dragon's Lair...my first foray into Sharon Kay Penman territory.

I just finished The Madness of Crowds--a solid addition to the series, but not the best. I've just been notified that the library has No Mark Upon Her and Toxic Things for me, so they'll be up quite soon. At night I've been reading Donna Andrews's series featuring Meg Lanslow, which is tons of fun.

I've moved on to Roberta Isleib's Six Strokes Under for my librocubicularistic pursuits. She (and her alter ego Lucy Burdette) are the last of the Jungle Red Writers that I hadn't tried.

Planning to start Deb's No Mark Upon Her tomorrow if I survive my morning walk.

I just finished listening to The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. Quite delightful. I’ve just requested the second book, when it is released, from my library.

Just got to the murder in Death of a Perfect Mother by Robert Barnard. Like a combination of PD James and Catherine Cookson.

About to start One Fatal Flaw by Anne Perry. I've enjoyed this newer series--a little leaner and fresher than some of her earlier work.

Managed to get 3 books read whilst I was away on holiday, thanks to my handy e-reader:

The Blooding by Joseph Wambaugh true crime, not fiction & was quite interesting
Skinner's Rules by Quintin Jardine new series to me and I liked it
Salt Lane by William Shaw the main character in this series has to be the most foolish, impetuous police officer in history!

>21 Copperskye: It is a great series! Now I can finally watch Shetland!

And I loved the Fiona Griffiths series as well, so I'm glad you liked Talking to the Dead :) My favourite book is the third one, The Strange Death of Fiona Griffiths.

Just finished Hank's new standalone, Her Perfect Life. I liked it a little better than a couple of her recent books. I was pretty sure I saw the twist coming, but it wasn't quite what I expected.

>22 rabbitprincess: Good to know about the Fiona Griffiths series, thanks!

I loved the Shetland TV series and am waiting impatiently for the next season. They made some changes that you’ll need to get used to but they work and it’s really excellent!
