Illustrated books that would make for good DLEs

Do you have any favourite illustrated books that you would like to see produced as DLEs? I have two in mind:

Myths of the Rhine by X.B. Saintine
Days of Chivalry, or The Legend of Croquemitaine by Ernest L'Épine

They are both lesser-known works illustrated by Gustave Doré. An example of an illustration from Croquemitaine:

I’d be interested to hear which books you would choose.

Wow... that looks kind of Lovecraftian (though I realize that would be anachronistic).

>2 whytewolf1: The illustration is titled "The Gnarled Monster". Doré was certainly imaginative.

Don't forget about "Orlando Furioso". Dore did hundreds of illustrations for this work so he must have had a fascination with it.

I'd love to see EP publish it with all (or most) of his illustrations, but it seems there is a problem with the English translations. If EP DID publish it with a decent translation though, I'd definitely order it.

>4 RunneroftheMill: Fantastic choice.

You're right about tranlastions though. The Doré illustrated edition was published in French, Italian and German, but never in English. It would be quite the undertaking to produce an Orlando Furioso in the same vein as the FS Gargantua and Pantagruel, but it would surely be a must buy for Doré collectors.
