I’ve become disenchanted with the Folio Society Devotees and the Fine Books forum which have recently degenerated into bickering over politics, social policy, and investment potential.

I’m happy to say, though, that our forum members have maintained their focus on books. We may not post as often as these other groups, but when we do it is because we have something interesting or important to say on the subject of books. I want to congratulate us all for continuing this tradition.

You may have just articulated why I’ve been leaving a lot of FS threads unread lately. I still read them but I noticed recently that I’ve been a lot pickier about sticking with certain ones or even starting reading some, just based on title alone. I noticed, but hadn’t really given it much thought as to why until now.

Here’s a book question: should EP (or whomever) make a nice version of Feynman’s Lectures? I’ve been reading the first volume in paperback on lunch breaks at work recently, though, I probably wouldn’t bring in a nice copy to read if there was one to be had.

>2 treereader:
I have a copy of Feynman’s “Easy and Not-So-Easy Pieces,” published by Folio Society in 2008, and containing an introduction by Roger Penrose. Several copies are available on eBay in the $40-50 range. It is a rather plain looking cloth bound book but with some colorful photographs. Folio also published an edition of “Surely You’re Joking, Mr. Feynman,” but I don’t have a copy of it.

eBay shows two copies of “Six Easy Pieces,” published by EP, and costing more than $100, but I don’t have that one either.

Regrettably, I know of no comparable edition of his “Lectures on Physics.”

I own and have read the EP version of Six Easy Pieces. I knew Folio published Surely, You’re Joking but didn’t know about the other; I have neither.
