Remember that you may combine 3 books from any of the categories any way you wish. You may choose one book from 3 different ones; 3 books from the same; 2 from one and 1 from another. You just need to end up with 3.


Thanksgiving is a holiday that is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. It's a federal holiday in the US and Canada.

1. Ninety Wampanoag Native Americans and 50 Plymouth colonialists...later came to be known as Pilgrims...celebrated the first autumn harvest celebration
in 1621... which lasted for lasted three days and was only attended by men.
2. Thanksgiving is the second favorite holiday among American adults, behind Christmas and ahead of Halloween.
3. Traditionally, a typical Thanksgiving dinner is composed of turkey stuffing, roast turkey, dinner rolls, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, corn, pumpkin pie,
gravy, and green beans.
4. Americans consume more than 45 million turkeys on Thanksgiving.
5. There are three towns in the United States named “Turkey.” They can be found in Texas, Louisiana, and North Carolina.
6. Minnesota raises the most turkeys in the U.S. Just six states...Minnesota, North Carolina, Arkansas, Virginia, Missouri and Indiana...produce two-thirds of
the birds raised in the United States.
7.On Black Friday...the day after Thanksgiving Day, Americans line up in stores or go on line, to purchase goods at discounted prices. Most stores usually
make huge sales.
8.The first professional football games on Thanksgiving were played November 25, 1920.
9. Canadian Thanksgiving takes place on the second Monday of October each year. It coincides with Columbus Day, which is an annual federal holiday in the
U.S.
10. The President of the United States receives two live turkeys as a gift in a celebration held in the White House right before Thanksgiving Day. He then
pardons them so that they can live on a farm. Usually, the pardoned turkeys spend their remaining days living in comfort.
