Today, January 1, is Sergei's Birthday!!! Have a great one, friend. If there wasn't a 6-hour time difference, I would have said it earlier:)

OMG...what a way to start the year. My internet has been out for a couple days so I'm finishing up the Americana Challenge now and will have it posted in a couple of hours. Sorry for the delay! (at least it's a long month...) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Having just seen Carol's review of Alexander McCall Smith's '44 Scotland Street' series I thought I'd mention a new series he has now begun, set in Sweden.
Detective Varg and his team are tasked with solving sensitive crimes and the first book in the series is called The Department of Sensitive Crimes. It is whimsical, amusing and quite poignant at times. I would say that it is well worth a look.

>16 Maura49: Thank you so much for this information. I'll have to check it out. My mother loved this author so much and had read almost everything he had written prior to 2018.

January 31 - Today is Dusty's birthday. I'm posting it early because her birthday will nearly be over before most of us are out of bed since there is a 6-to-8-hour time difference.

Dusty:

Happy Birthday, Dusty. Have a really great day.
