I am new to this group. I am Robert. I am devout Catholic and a professed member of the Dominican Order, Laity Branch. Plus I run a group on Facebook, called "Pier Giorgio Frassati & Dominic Savio Ordinary Christian", always looking for new friends there.
I love to read and have many different taste in books. Always looking for new friends and positive discussions. Please message me back

Thanks, Robert, and welcome to the group. There is already a thread for introductions at https://www.librarything.com/topic/329934, but since so far nobody has actually made use of it to introduce themselves, thanks for kick-starting a new effort! I too look forward to positive discussions.

I'm a retired lay missionary, originally from England, living in Kenya, having worked since 1976 in Kenya, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan and Uganda in a variety of roles including education, pastoral work, humanitarian relief and development, advocacy, peace and reconciliation. I'm still very involved with the church locally, and globally through the Catholic Nonviolence Initiative. In my old age I started writing, and have now published two books, one on the role of the Church in Sudan and the second a biography of a retired Sudanese Catholic bishop. This year I hope to publish the biography of a retired Sudanese protestant church leader (much of my work over the last quarter century has been ecumenical), and I've just been asked to begin writing the biography of a Ugandan Catholic archbishop. All of them have played a prominent role in peace and justice.

Hi Robert. I noticed your saints pictures this morning when I looked at recent profile pictures. Very nice.

I’m a cradle Catholic, fallen away and returned at age 40, when I finally met God. I’ve studied on my own since then with the help of a couple of small groups. I’ve taught Sunday school and pre-Confirmation classes. I love trying to make the faith relevant and exciting.
I’m now 67 and retired to Kentucky to be nearer to my daughters and grands.
