New month. New thread. Enjoy!

I'm this close to finishing All the Seas of the World by Guy Gavriel Kay. Only have two chapters left.

I finished book 2 and started 3 immediately, staying in Narida and its neighbours for The Godbreaker by Mike Brooks.

Just sped through the second Scholomance book, The Last Graduate by Naomi Novik. Now I have to wait for the next one to be published (dammit).

Currently observing the evolution of the Spanish Inquisition with Inquisitor Dreams by Phyllis Ann Karr. I'm not sure what to make of it. It's keeping my interest because it's giving me a better understanding of that period of history than I've ever really delved into before... but I can't tell if it's meant to be fantasy or historical fiction. The main character has dreams that are fantastical in nature, but they seem to be existing mainly just to provide commentary on the events in the real world, not really impacting the real world much? It's rather odd.

Added Shadowed Souls edited by Jim Butcher and Kerrie L. Hughes to my rotation.

Just finished Master of Furies, the third book in the Firemane saga by Feist.

Next up, Tad Williams' latest Into the Narrowdark! Very much looking forward to this one, this is probably the best epic fantasy series currently being written.

>4 seitherin: How was that one compared to Children of Earth and Sky?

>10 Karlstar: It's been so long since I read Children of Earth and Sky that I don't even remember what it was about. All I can say is I rated it half a star higher than this one.

I'm reading The haunting of Las Lagrimas which is towards the horror end of the spectrum, and The evidence which is towards the SF end.

Finally getting around to starting Mistborn. I've only read one other Sanderson book until now... haven't really been keen to start this, but I was given the first trilogy as a gift and I figured it's been sitting on the shelf being ignored for long enough.

Finished Shadowed Souls edited by Jim Butcher and Kerrie L. Hughes. Light reading but mostly enjoyable. Next up is Into the Narrowdark by Tad Williams.

I'm finally getting to A Darker Shade of Magic. A friend loaned me the entire trilogy, so I will be reading them all sooner rather than later.

Finished Hard Magic, first in a new Retrievers spin-off series by Laura Anne Gilman. Quite enjoyable -- her stuff isn't super-literary, but well crafted & fun. And for me this is a year when New York gets some needed fantasy attention; I finally read The City We Became several months ago. I grew up just outside New York, and much as I enjoy fantasies set in Chicago, New Orleans, the Pacific Northwest, or London, for me New York is THE city. :-)
