Group Read, January and February 2023: Nominations

A new year coming up. Please nominate up to two books you’d like as group reads for January and February and second as many nominated books as you like. I’ll set up a poll if needed in around a week.

I don't think either of these have been on the list yet.
Santa Evita by Tomas Eloy Martinez and The Tin Flute by Gabrielle Roy.

I'd like to read something very short, so I nominate Chess Story by Stefan Zweig, and Michael Kohlhaas by Heinrich on Kleist. And I second The Tin Flute although it's not as short as my nominees.

I've been rather occupied with other project recently, but aim to get back to these.
In which case may I nominate The Kiss of the Spider Woman by Manuel Puig and The Talented Mr Ripley by Patricia Highsmith.
I have these out from the library, so I will read them anyway. >:-)

I will second Chess Story.

We have two seconded books - Chess Story by Stefan Zweig and The Tin Flute by Gabrielle Roy. These will be our group reads for January and February respectively.

That's great! Chess Story definitely meets the January Group Challenge as well.
