Happy 2023, I hope this year is better than the last one. What 1001 books have you resolved to read this month?

Finishing up The Ogre which started out badly but has gotten better. I can't call it an enjoyable book but it's an interesting one. After that I'll do the group read, nice and short. Oh, on audio I'm finishing Nicholas Nickelby which has been a real treat.

I am currently reading Empire of the Sun by J. G. Ballard. I wasn't expecting to like this book as I hated the movie, but I am enthralled by both the excellent writing and the story.

I'm reading Erewhon by Samuel Butler - I have only gotten to the part where our hero is travelling to the mystic land so hard to say how it turns out - and planning on doing a quick re-read of Chess Story later.

Quick question - I'm thinking about finally reading Alice in Wonderland are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass listed as two separate novels on the list?

>9 japaul22: It is one of the few authors with more than one book on the list, where I have actually read all of them, so it was easy to answer. (Personally I believe Alice's Adventures is an obvious choice for the list, but I found Through the Looking Glass much less interesting.)
