I got a "W" and I am going to use it for the author's first name so I will be reading Vathek by William Backford.

I have finished my read of Vathek by William Beckford. Rather over-the-top and strongly influenced by The Arabian Nights, it read much like a fairy tale. It is a tragic parable dealing with man's excesses, both sensory and sexual. I didn't love it, but thankfully it was short.
