French version :
https://www.librarything.fr/stats/JMK2020/nationality

Com Version
https://www.librarything.com/stats/JMK2020/nationality

I cant' see in french version the not set nationality (341) list and author name to correct

NB : i corrected the rest in french version to have for example one nationality as Royaume-Uni (before, i had UK (certainly cause of com import) / Other example (Eats-Unis and not with accent or USA).

So for french version it's Ok out of Not set list.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

So now, if i go to .com, it's the same problem Sometime nationality in . com in french or USA/United States and so Etats-Unis....

I laught but i can't change each syntax of nationality in each language version ;-)....
Sure, it's not easy for developper if i use french in german data fields or italian in US data fields

Hoping i'm clear

Example for name nationality / languages / Version LBTh

1st : .com version (Poland / Pologne)
2nd : .fr version (Pologne),
i corrected the data fields with french conventional nationality name before

Good news however : 17 + 22 (.com) = 39 (.fr)

Visual vs 1st post : No list in .fr of unknown nationality (not set) vs .com

As far as the Not Set not having the names of the authors, I believe I've resolved that. But the nationality names being in French on the US site is a different thing. I think that's how it is going to be because if the data is coming from the French site, we can't translate that into English. The only other option would be to only use data from the English site when you're viewing on the English version, which may or may not be a good idea, I'm really not sure. So I'm going to leave it as is for now.

Thanks.

It's not a problem for me (but when you watch from another version, it changes the information and the vision of things... and that's not very good).

As i use (and correct) a lot af academic database (Ex : BNF, LOC, ISNI, SUDOC, VIAF, DNB, ...) and I am active on wikidata**, I told myself that it would be excellent to be able to complete data and that these are identical in the other language versions

nb : I created different profiles on LBTh to be able to be active according to the languages. However, I use it when necessary. This takes lots of time

**I started wikidata after noticing that data (which required a lot of research) was overwritten or modified in LBTh (for example combination of author or separation) but also because there are still a lot of errors ( or confusion) in the databases of academic or governmental authorities (.
I have my own base with my authors and works. It's quite complete and rather very reliable, I don't collect information automatically / by computer.... I try to make others benefit from it.
... But I would need 100 lives or so that there is a real ambition to organize the information (it is sure that this does not please commercial sites like google, amazon, but also to all those who live from and with the dispersion of information and confusion...).
That's why I appreciate LBth.... to have a certain (relative) idea of what is happening elsewhere (book, author, idea, space, time...). In short, something between nature and culture
