Add to Catalogue Barcode Scanner not working

Whenever I try to scan a barcode to add a book to my catalogue, I hear a beep and then the app freezes and crashes. I’ve tried multiple times and turning my iPad on and off and nothing works. I can add books to the catalogue by manually inputting the ISBN, which just takes so much longer.

Can you tell me what generation/version of the iPad/iOS you are running? We are currently trying to run down a problem with a certain combination that is causing this issue. You just happen to be one of the lucky ones.

I'm having this identical issue with my iPhone running iOS 16.3.1. I've deleted the app and reinstalled but that did not work.
