Found: please help find children’s fantasy book, girl and super dog very adventurous old timey

Trying to find a children’s fantasy book i read when i was younger. it’s about this young girl i think she’s blonde she wore a white dress and she was almost murdered but she was aced by her white dog. the dog was skinny and kinda glowing. the cover of the book was a very decorated fantasy looking cover with the girl, the dog, and one or two of her friends standing in the upper middle of the book. i think she had two friends but i can only remember one. he was tall and had darker skin. it was set in a very old time and they were peasants but had powers i think. they traveled alone all around and i think at some point they were in a castle and there was a big giant.
