I read a book as a kid that features a boy, who name was Archie if I remember correctly, and he was ‘born in the blood of a hundred men and so had their strength’, or something along those lines
There were pneumatic tubes, cowboys (also I think cowboy robots?), ghosts and voodoo dolls in New Orleans, I could not pinpoint the genre if I tried. It was a series I believe, and I read it about six years ago.
