There is a series of Riley Jenson Guardian novels by Keri Arthur that i have trudging through. I've read Full Moon Rising, Kissing Sin and Tempting Evil. I picked up Embraced by Darkness and put it aside for a stack of library books that came in.
I'm not sure why I keep picking up this author...the series just exhausts me.
Anyone else have this experience?

Not with this type of book, but I have certainly kept going in series long after I was truly enjoying them. The Patricia Cornwell series comes to mind immediately. Her early books I absolutely loved. The middle ones were readable. About 10 years ago they began a fairly rapid downhill slide. I kept trying. I finally had to stop when I realized I really just wanted to throw the book across the room, which I never do. But it was hard to finally give up; she used to be one of the authors I'd buy in hardback when the book first came out.

Actually, I liked the first of the series, then the next few just didn't do it for me. I almost stopped but gave it one more chance (hey, they're library books so I wasn't worried about wasting money ~ only time, and they are such fast reads after all). As it turns out, Embraced by Darkness is, I think, pretty good ~ the best of the bunch, anyway ~ so maybe you stopped just one book too soon. :)
