My wife and I found this library table in a furniture consignment shop in Belleair, Florida:

That's a great find. However, we can see you don't have enough books. You're not using the floor under the bottom shelf yet.

My library is almost book-tight. There are three bookcases in the closet full of books as well. As for the floor under the bottom shelf of the wall-to-wall bookcase, that area is reserved for reading:

That is the neatest piece of furniture I have ever seen. You're lucky to find it, to have a place for it, and to be able to purchase it. Is there a title on the "spine"?

>7 laytonwoman3rd:
There are two titles on the spine: Design and Culture in the 17th Century Vol I and The Pursuit of Happiness.
There were several books published with the latter title, but no books by the former title; however, Richard Von Busack mentions a table with such a title in an essay on Woody Guthrie: Bred on the North Side of the Red.

Is there a manufacturer’s label on the underside of the desk or under or in one of the drawers?

There are no manufacturer markings or labels anywhere on my library table.
I have a new addition to my work table: Book Box of Tissues.. I found it a local thrift store this weekend.

That is a great table! Is it now full of piles of books?

The table serves as a temporary resting place for books I've pulled off my shelves while researching. In the center, I like to display either The Psalms of the Singer David, a beautiful work by the San Francisco printer, John Henry Nash, or William Hogarth, a book of Hogarth's engravings by Austin Dobson. Next? A book stand to hold the selected book would be nice. I'm looking.
