So, I'm graduating college on Sunday, and as my last big bang, I'm going to surreptitiously paint a mural in one of the bathrooms in the humanities building. (This may sound weird but is pretty typical at my school.)

And I'm thinking what I'll paint is a sort of "landscape" incorporating some of the great characters in literature.

Any ideas on who to paint? I've got some already, but would like to hear what other people think.

Miss Havisham would be fun.

check out my www.recollections54.com or www.davidtripp.net. I did some literary figures on one of the murals of my high school. Many pictures are posted.

Off the top of my head...Hamlet. And Connie from "Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been." Or even Arnold Friend from the same story. Weird but good.

I would have to include a character from The Dead by James Joyce. Gretta’s lost love, Michael Furey would be pictured standing in the rain calling for Gretta-ahhhh, young love.

The Karamazov brothers. Arthur, Guinevere and Lancelot. Poe's Raven. Peter Rabbit. Scarlett O'Hara (but go by the description in the book, not Vivian Leigh). Medea. The Archbishop for whom Willa Cather had Death Come.

Well, this has been a while ago. Tell us snail, what did you paint and did you take a picture?
