All I can say after watching the Preakness Stakes is WOW! Big Brown is such a tremendous horse; what an amazing turn of foot he has! And all the horses came back safe and sound, which is the most important thing.
Now we have three weeks to wait until we find out if we are going to see the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years...

A beautiful horse and a spectacular finish. I loved it.

He did look impressive today, didn't he, FionaCat? I'm not about to jinx him by saying who he reminds me of, but I certainly enjoyed the sight.
Best of all, everyone came home safe and sound. I agree that that's the most important part of the experience.
By the way, greetings to all our new members. I've been a bit overwhelmed and haven't had enough time to respond to everyone I'd like! Welcome!

Well, once again our hopes were dashed and it will be at least 31 years between Triple Crown winners. I just hope that there is nothing seriously wrong with him and that they keep him in training -- I would love to see him at Santa Anita for the Breeders Cup!
To console myself, I went to Borders after the race and bought a horse book: Horse Crazy: women and the horses they love which looks good. I also bought some posh chocolates but that's another story ...

I was sorry to see him not move on up but even more sorry to see him fall all the way back. I imagine there are some depressions to go around in that barn.
