As I recall, the film adaptation of The Shipping News (one of my favorite books ever) was faithful to the novel. Enjoy!

A bit of a mixed category. Some books were rather disappointing as no where near as good as the previous book I'd read by the same author - Glyph and The Third Brother especially. But Three to See the King and All Families are Psychotic were brilliant and would make my all time favourites list.

5. Elephants on Acid Alex Boese (weird science experiements)
6. Stuart a Life Backwards Alexander Masters (story of a homeless man)
7. The Year of Magical Thinking Joan Didion (memoir about grief)
8. My Life at Grey Gardens Lois Wright (memoir)
I really enjoyed this section. I don't really read much non-fiction so this was a great encouragement and I'm going to try to read more non-fiction next year. I particularly loved the Joan Didion books and The Hypocrisy of Disco.

What a contrast between the last two books in this category. I hated Two Caravans and found it the worst book in this category but I loved Never Let Me Go which was probably the best in the category.
