'Classics of Spiritual Philosophy and the Present' -
this remarkable book by Vladimir Antonov is a unique collection of knowledge on the world religious philosophy - from ancient times to present day. It includes Tao Te Ching of Lao Tse, Bhagavad Gita of Krishna, Emerald Tablet of Hermes Trismegistus, Emerald Tablets of Thoth-the-Atlantean, Golden Verses of Pythagoras, apocryphal Gospel of Philip, and many more.

It's available on the site: http://www.philosophy-of-religion.org.ua and from Amazon.

Hmmm... well, I don't know if I agree with the synopsis of the book although it looks quite interesting.

...One may see that in all times God has been teaching people the same, though in slightly different words — depending on concrete cultural traditions and political situations. He teaches us what He wants us to be, what is the meaning of our lives on the Earth, and how to realize it.

This sets the stage for the reader to see the Christian/Judeo "God" as the inspiration to all these works. I totally disagree. "Slighty different ways" is an understatement. God is also a "He" as in male/fraternal. It would have been better to let the reader decide what "God" is, and if God IS at all. These works really are a collection of human spirituality as humans have defined it over the ages. This spirituality or maybe "consciousness" is always evolving and blending.
