Nov. 30, 2008, 1:14 am

I read Shug, oh it made me cry! It's sort of like Bella and Edward's love, how it's so sweet and true , I hate Mark!! He's so mean, he broke Shug's heart and didn't she sound so pretty when she went to the school dance and then Mark just dissed her! I think it was cute how Shug fell in love with Jack at the end >_

8cornpuff12
Dez. 7, 2008, 6:53 pm

I recommend The Boyfriend List, it's about lost love and losing friends. Very sad but very good. 8.5 out of 10, I think :)

12cornpuff12
Dez. 14, 2008, 1:14 am

hmmm. i have that on my reading list already. can u give me a basic review?

13G.A.B.E
Dez. 14, 2008, 3:04 am

I am too lazy (sorry) to write my own review so I'll just cut and paste:

It's about Ruby Oliver, a fifteen year old girl whose parents make her see a shrink when she starts having panic attacks. The shrink, Doctor Z, makes her make a list of all her boyfriends/rumored boyfriends/boyfriends she wished she had. The finished list holds fifteen boys, going back from preschool to high school. Each chapter details her experiences with the boys and why she liked them.

*sigh* the world is a cruel place.

19G.A.B.E
Dez. 15, 2008, 7:43 pm

Cruel, it is indeed. This book is sort of a mix of romance, family tension, history and adventure. It's called The Embers of Heaven, at first, I didn't like it but after three or four chapters you get into it :)

Dez. 16, 2008, 5:07 pm

ok. i don't really enjoy that kind of book, but i will try to read it.

21G.A.B.E
Dez. 16, 2008, 7:58 pm

Yeah, I'm not sure you would enjoy it either, to be honest, it's a little confusing at times

Dez. 19, 2008, 11:54 pm

I read The Truth About Forever and to be honest, it was a little confusing. I like Shakespeare now, I just finished A Midsummer Night's Dream and I just got Romeo and Juliet today :)

Is it any good?

26cornpuff12
Dez. 20, 2008, 12:15 pm

wait, i forgot what a midsummer night's dream was about.

27G.A.B.E
Dez. 21, 2008, 4:09 am

To be perfectly honest, Romeo and Juliet looks pretty lame next to Bella and Edward. Romeo is a pretty fickle character who first falls in love with Rosaline and "swears to never even look at another woman", two hours later, he falls in love with Juliet who is only 13. But they are both the only children of old families who hate each other. So they must meet in secret. They get married. But Juliet's father wants her to marry the handsome, the charming, the rich Paris. Paris and Romeo fight, Romeo wins. Juliet gets this "potion" which puts her into a deep sleep so that her family will think she's dead so she and Romeo can escape together. But Romeo hears that she's "dead" before he gets her letter explaining everything. Then he gets a potion to kill himself. He goes and sees Juliet's "dead" body and drinks the potion. Juliet wakes, sees Romeo, and then stabs herself. Both families discover their dead bodies and united by grief, they put their hatred behind themselves and becomes friends. Supposedly this is the greatest love story ever written.
Romeo seems like a player, I mean he says not won't love again but then like, two hours later he falls desperately in love with Juliet. Come on ==" and Juliet is only 13!!!! 13!! That's how old I am! Creepy o_0"
A Midsummer Night's Dream: Three interlocking plots. Oberon wants Titannia's pageboy, Puck, to serve him but Titannia is against it. A group of "rude mechincals" rehearse a great love story play to entertain the Duke and Duchess at their wedding. Lysander and So&So (forgot his name) love both beautiful Hermia but Helena loves So&So while Hermia's Dad wants her to marry So&So. Puck and Oberon try to resolve this by putting potion on Lysander's eyelids while he's asleep so he'll fall in love with the first person he sees which is Helena. Then Hermia is heart-broken. Helena is still love sick with So&So. Puck then puts it on So&So and he too falls in love with Helena. So instead of the two guys fighting over Hermia, they now fight over Helena. Puck solves it all by re-charming Lysander to Hermia and leaving Helena and So&So in love. The "rude mechanics" put on their play and even though it's pretty "poor" it's very moving and the Duke and Duchess even cry when both lovers die. Hermia, Lysander, Helena and So&So all get married while deciding the past day's events were just a dream. Hence the title, A Midsummer Night's Dream. I enjoyed it alot and I thought it was excellent.

yeah, seriously. i mean edward and bella are sort of a replay on romeo and juliet, but WAY better.

29kristy101
Dez. 22, 2008, 11:46 am

ya i totally agree with you, cause romeo and julliete is one of my favorite books, but twilight is better and the books are kinda like a few different books, and plays together, like romeo and juliete, a mid summers night dream, ect....

30cornpuff12
Dez. 22, 2008, 12:13 pm

31kristy101
Dez. 22, 2008, 12:25 pm

well i agree about the comment you made about romeo and julliete(message #28) and i was saying how twilight has influence from a bunch of different books and plays

34cornpuff12
Dez. 22, 2008, 6:33 pm

yeah. at my school, we did a suessification of romeo and juliet and it was really fun.

35G.A.B.E
Dez. 23, 2008, 2:11 am

I think that A Midsummer Night's Dream is better than Romeo and Juliet but it's cool how Twilight is like a little bit of heaps of classics but is like a totally new, modern story XD

36kristy101
Dez. 23, 2008, 11:45 am

ya well a mid summers night dream is my favorite play and romeo and juliet is one of my favorite books, i have never read a book for a mid summers night dream
