Ooh, that sounds interesting. Lol. I haven't really read any adventure books ...

4cornpuff12
Nov. 29, 2008, 12:15 pm

yeah. read it right. now. i am almost finished with it. i read a lot today.

Dez. 13, 2008, 3:05 pm

I'm reading Dracula now. That book is so creepy. Highly reccomend it for anyone that likes some scary books. It's very wordy though, but that should not keep you from reading it.

6cornpuff12
Dez. 13, 2008, 7:49 pm

what do u mean by wordy? does that mean a lot of swear words? i bet that i would like to read it. i like dracula.

7G.A.B.E
Dez. 13, 2008, 10:52 pm

Oh, you mean the classical Dracula? I've seen that. I think Stoe means that the language is written in an old-worldly sort of way. I like books like that!

8cornpuff12
Dez. 13, 2008, 10:57 pm

oh yes. but nothing like charles dickens: the king of writing a whole chapter when he could have just had a sentence. did u know that if he hadn't kept babbling when he wrote a christmas carol, it would only be about 27 pages long?

9G.A.B.E
Dez. 13, 2008, 11:04 pm

Lol! That made me laugh!! XD Whoa, he does babble on!!

10cornpuff12
Dez. 14, 2008, 1:09 am

yeah. i think it is in stave three, um . . . he takes a whole paragraph just to say that the second ghost is about to show up. a really loooooong paragraph.

11G.A.B.E
Dez. 14, 2008, 3:45 am

OMG!!! Lol XD

12cornpuff12
Dez. 14, 2008, 10:36 am

yeah. i didn't know what he was trying to get through to u until my teacher explained it.

13Thespian
Dez. 14, 2008, 11:34 am

Yes, I meant that Dracula has a lot of words. But it is really cool, and creepy.

But I never read Dickens though. My mom really wants me to read him. She LOVES Dickens.

14cornpuff12
Dez. 14, 2008, 2:14 pm

omg! u totally should! he rocks!!!! ahhhhh! *screams and throws arms up in the air*

15Thespian
Dez. 14, 2008, 3:10 pm

You and my mom must really get along. Which one do you recomend me to read?

16cornpuff12
Dez. 14, 2008, 10:13 pm

a christmas carol or oliver twist! a christmas carol seems to suit your scary/creepy taste, and i think anyone would love oliver twist.

17Thespian
Dez. 15, 2008, 5:26 pm

True, I heard they are all really sad though.

18G.A.B.E
Dez. 15, 2008, 7:29 pm

Yes, they are. But I don't have much patience with Charles. Though, I did read the pain-stakingly thick David Copperfield, I think it was nearing a thousand pages. I watched the movie beforehand and it made me cry.

19Thespian
Dez. 16, 2008, 3:27 pm

That is my mom's favorite book. But I think all David Copperfield books can make anyone cry.

I still don't know how my mom read the books. She can't read anything sad. YET, she managed to read most of his works.

I'm confused.

20cornpuff12
Dez. 16, 2008, 4:14 pm

yeah. the director here wants me to play oliver in the school musical, but she says that i would have to cut my hair. would i look good in chin-length cuts of any kind?

21G.A.B.E
Dez. 16, 2008, 8:05 pm

NO! JUST WEAR A WIG! SAVE YOU LOVELY LOCKS!! Anyway, I think David Copperfield is written by Charles Dickens. I was sobbing like a baby.

22Thespian
Dez. 16, 2008, 8:08 pm

Yeah, that's what I'm saying! It's such a sad book, yet my mom managed to read it with little problems. Sometimes I wonder.

23G.A.B.E
Dez. 17, 2008, 12:15 am

Lol. I wonder too XD

24Thespian
Dez. 17, 2008, 9:44 am

I know right?

The play that made me cry the most in a long time was A Streetcar Named Desire.

I'm tearing up just thinking about it.

25G.A.B.E
Dez. 17, 2008, 10:12 pm

I haven't heard of that. I am currently reading A Midsummer Night's Dream. I am enjoying it so far. He is seriously the best writer, his writing is so beautiful and the story is captivating. I am up to Act IV at the moment, I am nearly finished. I want to read Romeo and Juliet next.

26Thespian
Dez. 18, 2008, 10:23 pm

YOU HAVE TO READ MACBETH! That is one of his greatest plays ever written.

27G.A.B.E
Dez. 19, 2008, 3:43 am

Cool! I'll read it. I finished A Midsummer Night's Dream btw and I just got Sense and Sensibilty I am getting into classics now. Wuthering Heights is a classic and eventually I'll have to study it for English but I've heard that it's a love-hate story with ghastly characters who's love is their only redeeming quality.

28cornpuff12
Dez. 19, 2008, 7:12 pm

ahhh! bella made me want to read wuthering heights so bad!

29G.A.B.E
Dez. 19, 2008, 11:56 pm

Yeah! That's why I wanted to read it too!

30supersam
Dez. 20, 2008, 11:19 am

whats wuthering heights?

31cornpuff12
Dez. 20, 2008, 12:17 pm

i don't know what it is about, but i do know that bella loves that book.

32G.A.B.E
Dez. 21, 2008, 3:55 am

It's an old classic. Supposedly, in Edward and Bella's own words (well, along the lines of):
E: "It's a horrible book with ghastly characters."
B: "That's the point, that their love is their redeeming quality."
E: "I suppose blah blah blah, yap yap yap."
Yeah, so Heathcliff and Catherine are really nasty people who fall in love with each other while hating each other. See, it's a love-hate story. Sounds interesting XD

33Thespian
Dez. 21, 2008, 6:38 pm

No, see, Catherine does love him when she only has him. But whenever she is around some one who is rich, and can give her money, she treats him like crap! Because they knew eachother since they were young. And he I think works in the stables or something like that.

Well one day, she gets engaged to some one, and he leaves, and she chases after Heathecliff. But he still leaves.

Then he comes back with a ton of money and I guess just wants to bug her.

I think this summary is somewhat accurate. Don't take my word entirely for it, I know I'm partially accurate to what happens.

I really do want to read the book too? I saw the movie with Laurence Olivier. It was great!

34G.A.B.E
Dez. 21, 2008, 7:12 pm

So, they don't end up together?? *crying in the corner* :(

35Thespian
Dez. 21, 2008, 7:42 pm

I'm not giving away the ending. You might get mad.

36G.A.B.E
Dez. 21, 2008, 11:28 pm

Why? Hold on, I'll look it up on the internet. OMG! It's a horrible book! They're all unhappy and die! I don't want to read it! BTW, did you know that Wuthering Heights was Emily Bronte's only novel? And for good reason to, if all she's going to write is ghastly novels about dreadful people who die alone. HUMPH!

37Thespian
Dez. 22, 2008, 8:02 am

Well books can't all end happily, or else they'd all be cliche's. And if they were cliche's, they'd be clunkers. And we don't want that no do we.

You got to hand it to Emily Bronte that see was original. Not many books of that time ended badly. I like sad books. For some feeling they interest me.

38cornpuff12
Dez. 22, 2008, 11:22 am

yes, exactly, cliches are clunkers. i want to read it now.

39supersam
Dez. 22, 2008, 6:19 pm

I like books with unusual endings instead of sad endings. Their much more satisfying.

40cornpuff12
Dez. 22, 2008, 6:36 pm

yeah. me too.

41cornpuff12
Dez. 22, 2008, 6:36 pm

but sad is sort of unusual.

42G.A.B.E
Dez. 22, 2008, 8:42 pm

I agree with message 39. Sad endings are horrible!

43supersam
Dez. 24, 2008, 11:20 am

but sad endings can always have a twist on them.

44G.A.B.E
Dez. 24, 2008, 5:08 pm

They can .. but the ending to Wuthering Heights was pretty terrible, the guy and girl were in love but then she married some other guy and they never saw each other again until she died and then he lived the rest of his life in sadness and then he died!

45supersam
Dez. 25, 2008, 2:11 pm

STOP...MAKING... ME... SO.... SAD!!!!! *jokes* lol

46G.A.B.E
Dez. 25, 2008, 8:30 pm

Lol XD It made me pretty sad too!

47supersam
Dez. 26, 2008, 12:08 pm

WAAAAAAAAAA MOMMY!!!!!!! *sobs, then snickers* lol XD

48Thespian
Dez. 26, 2008, 2:53 pm

Sad is not so bad. But then again, you don't want it to be so sad that you cry for days and days after you read the book.

49G.A.B.E
Dez. 26, 2008, 5:26 pm

LOL! I still cry about a manga I read, just because I had been reading it for 2 years and watching the anime for the same amount of time and then it finally ended and it was very emotional :(

50cornpuff12
Dez. 27, 2008, 2:33 pm

*sigh* the world is a horrible place.

51G.A.B.E
Dez. 28, 2008, 11:42 pm

*sobs uncontrollably* Agreed.

52Thespian
Dez. 29, 2008, 12:30 am

Yeah. Like you've been following the characters for so long, that you are sad that the show is going to end. And that they won't be around much longer.

53G.A.B.E
Dez. 29, 2008, 4:04 am

Exactly =(

54supersam
Dez. 29, 2008, 11:31 am

55G.A.B.E
Dez. 29, 2008, 6:27 pm

I feel quite young actually, I was just thinking about how one day, we're gonna be old and wrinkled with liver spots and we can't wear skinny jeans or straight our hair or go out on Friday nights and I felt so sad! ONE DAY WE'RE GONNA BE LIKE YOUR GRANDMA!

56felymonster

Maximum Ride Series by James Patterson.....soooo good. I like it at least. The blogging thing is starting to get a little weird though, but each to their own. I thought I had more, but I'm drawing blanks now. : p

Tinkerbell is such a BIG POO POO. She was really mean to Wendy, not that I really liked Wendy but still! I was sad that Wendy didn't stay and marry Peter Pan!

92Thespian
Mrz. 5, 2009, 3:51 pm

That's a little offbeat don't you think? Peter first likes Wendy, then she grows old, so he goes after Wendy's daughter. Creeper?

I liked Ariel in the Little Mermaid. She was so CUTE!

93G.A.B.E
Mrz. 13, 2009, 4:32 am

I agree! That is so weird! She liked her then her daughter - LOL :)

Ariel is cute! And so was her daughter in the sequel :)

95Thespian
Mrz. 18, 2009, 10:02 am

The mermaids in Peter Pan were so annoying. I felt like punching them all in the face. They were all so mean to Wendy. It just was so bad.

I never saw the sequal to The Little Mermaid, and I never will. I never want to see sequels to classic disney movies, they just aren't that good in my opinion.

96felymonster
Mrz. 18, 2009, 8:01 pm

i used to want to be a mermaid:) no joke. besides wishing to marry peter and to go to never land i wanted to be a mermaid. lol. i was one of those imaginative kids. lol. i wished for a lot to. i was very nasty. how can someone wish to be a mermaid?

I hate it when it does that. I also hate when the radio says, "We're bringing you the newest and hottest songs." And they are like a year old. Yesterday, right after they said that, they played Low by Flo Rida ft. T-Pain which was released in 2007. Yeah, very new.

103cornpuff12

Adventure...okay my number one would be Unwind although I never real considered it an adventure, even though it very much so is, because it's got you thinking about sooooo much more.

Next I would say Hunger Games That series is so enticing and you never know what's going to happen next.

After those I'm just gonna say Percy Jackson and Maximum Ride. Both those books are really good, but it's brain candy and don't get me wrong I love both of them, they're just not as thought provoking I didn't think.

If you are looking for a great adventure story, try Graceling by Kristin Cashore. It's been out for awhile, but is wonderful. The main character is a girl and her growth in the story is excellent. Give it a try.
