I found 15 books yesterday at my favorite thrift store, many in like new condition. Four hardbacks and the rest paperback. Found a book that is on my daughter's wishlist. It's going under the tree for her. The total I paid for all these books is just $4.95. Unbelieveable! I am thrilled. This thrift stores sells paperbacks for a quarter and hardbacks for 50 cents. I'm running out of bookshelf space in my house. I need to sell some on half.ebay.com or trade on bookmooch or paperbackswap.

I adore thrift stores (and not just for books, although that is where I go first). The beautiful thing about my local thrift store is that the books are right next to the shoes! Could they have planned that any better? :-)

Found three really nice books at a thrift store in Rohnert Park, CA, yesterday: a 1941 printing of Cakes and Ale by Somerset Maugham; a 1944 first edition of One Man's Meat a collection of essays by E.B. White; and a first edition of the memoir From the Danube to the Yalu by Mark Clark. All for a dollar apiece.
