Hi, all! I've just joined this group -- here's why:

This is Sophie, my ~6-month-old terrier mix. She came to live with us on November 5th. We (my brother and sister-in-law and I) adopted her from a local shelter, so we know very little about her early months. The shelter paperwork said that she was found at the side of the highway. They estimated her age at ten months, but when I took her to the vet, the vet looked at her teeth, laughed, and said, "Oh, this dog isn't even five months old yet!" (She still had her baby canines at the time, though her adult ones are in now.) She is mostly terrier, we think.

Sophie is very loving and playful -- it's amazing how much more confident she is after a couple months of being part of a caring family. I look forward to sharing puppy stories with you all!

Greta Garbo and Nicky say they see a schnauzer nose there on that beautiful Sophie puppy! She looks like she could be a very sweet puppy. Lots of playing to be had! Congratualtions, enjoy her. And I know she knows how lucky she is.

Here she is, saying "Merry Christmas! Can you take the ruffle off my neck now?"

Gregor says Merry Christmas to Sophie and wants to tell her at least it isn't a Santa hat like he has to wear!

#4 -- Yes, I definitely think there is some schnauzer in her. It's particularly evident in the face and the hind legs.

you probably already know I love my schnauzers. They are very lovable dogs. One loves to snuggle the other no so much but he loves tummy rubs. I am sure you'll love her personality if she's like schnauzers. Everyday, sit down and put her on her back in your lap and rub her tummy until she relaxes. It is a sure fire training for your puppy to be a love bug.

New Sophie picture -- thought I'd share the cuteness:

She likes digging in the snow, and every time we go out she comes in with it on her chin.

OMG how adorable!!! By far one of the best doggie pictures I've seen, especially being from South Florida. We don't see much snow around here, never mind a cute bundle of doggie playing in it. Thanks for sharing

Oh foggi! I love Sophie! She is so cute with her little furry ears and muzzle. It looks like she would be good at the puppydog face. :)

Here she is, with one of her favorite toys (which is now, alas, only a memory):

Oh Foggi! I just want rub that face it looks so soft and fun! I wish she could meet Pepper, I bet they'd be friends.

I bet they would! She's completely intimidated by any dog that is bigger than she is, but I think Pepper is in the same ballpark, so it wouldn't be too scary. She is bestest friends with the little Schnauzer that lives next door. They run up and down the fence line together.

I think she is getting cuter as she gets older, foggi!

foggi, I think schnauzers recognize each other. Every time I am at an off-leash park with my two and they find another everyone seems so happy to play and be buddies. Your baby surely has schnauzer in her.

Speaking of schnauzers, we met a couple Tuesday evening who had found a chocolate schnauzer. It was so cute! I've never seen or heard of one that color before. There's a picture of it on the New Train thread over on HogwartsExpress. We had a black schnauzer before we had Kirby. She was a mess.

oh, a chocolate schnauzer sounds so nice. One of my schnauzers is all black, save for the gray in his beard. I should call him Gray Beard but right now I am calling him Czar Nicholas as he likes to orchestrate everyone's behavior in the household. Greta Garbo just ignores him. But he does scare Buckwheat, poor baby.

ah, the life of a three dog woman, the enjoyment never ceases.
