The Secret of Chimneys by Agatha Christie

I've just finished up with N or M and Crooked House. I twigged to the solution in N or M, but I have to admit, Crooked House took me by surprise. Very interesting ending.

I'm reading Sad Cypress. Is it just me, or is the writing rather bad in this one? It just seems so choppy, and the descriptions of the characters lack Christie's usual ease.

I just finished The Pale Horse. I used to read a lot of Agatha Christie when I was younger, but of course I don't remember the titles. I eventually want to read them all, but to get me started, I would appreciate recommendation everyone's favorites.

I'm reading The Body in the Library.

I've just started A Murder at Hazelmoor (The Sittaford Mystery).

I started Mrs. McGinty's Dead this afternoon. BTW- I really enjoyed Murder At Hazelmoor and recommend it.

Miss Marple: The Complete Short Stories. It was a gift to as a young child and got me hooked on Christie. I always reach for it when I need a good read.

I'm currently reading Poirot Investigates. One of my goals this year is to read all of the Hercule Poirot novels in order. I got a bit sidetracked though by Early Review books and some other recommendations, so I'm on number three.

I'm reading Dead Man's Folly, also a Hercule Poirot mystery.

I am currently reading The Mysterious Affair At Styles by Agatha Christie. I have read many of her books over 40 years ago, but have decided to read them over. And, my goal is to read them in the order of publication date.

The next book I'm reading by Agatha Christie is THE SECRET ADVERSARY. This is a Tommy and Tuppence series, and so far I agree with others that I like the Poirot books better. The book is well written, but I believe it is just because the characters are a bit ditzsy.

I'm a few pages into Endless Night.

Parker Pyne Investigates - I had decided to reread all the books by Agatha Christie (in no particular order) so this one was on the top of the box when I was searching the next one, after finishing Problem at Pollensa Bay and Other Stories which was a mixed bag - both as content and as quality.

I still think that Pyne is the worst of her detectives but it's better than I remember it actually :)

I prefer Parker Pyne when he's manipulating rather than investigating.

Yeah, his manipulating ones are at least original and kinda amusing even if some of them are unbelievable. Although I quite enjoyed "The Gate of Baghdad" last night (even if it is one of his investigating ones) - I had totally forgotten that I had ever read this story before (if I had at all) and it was actually quite good.

I've just finished Why Didn't They Ask Evans? in anticipation of the Masterpiece Mystery episode. I believe this one will be the last of the Agatha Christie's this season.

Starting Hercule Poirot's Christmas next. Haven't read it for at least 10 years and never read it in English so I expect to have fun with it.

I'm reading Murder on the Links, and after that, Sad Cypress.

I'm reading The Body in the Library well I'm starting it.

I'm re-reading (for the umpteenth time) 4.50 from Paddington, also known as What Mrs. McGillicuddy Saw! in the US.

I just picked up Miss Marple The Complete Short Stories last week, so that's on the night stand. Reading a story a night.
Loving the Masterpiece Mystery Poirot Series X.

I have read many of Agatha Christie's books when I was younger. Since the goal is to list them here in LibraryThing, I plan to reread them and enter them as I go through the volumes again. At the moment, I'm reading Black Coffee as I am in a steamy relationship with gourmet coffee and the title just jumped out and caught my attention for a NOW read.

Third Girl, and wishing I had read it before Masterpiece Theatre's episode recently so I could have watched.

I've recently read The Murder of Roger Ackroyd for the first time, and would now very much like to see the graphic novel version by Bruno Lachard

I finished The Mysterious Affair at Styles, which was so well-done, especially for a first novel. Loved meeting Poirot.

Are you reading them in the order they were published? I've been doing that since the beginning of summer besides my other reading pursuits and it's fuelled my love of all things AC, again. A lovely way to celebrate her 120th, I'd say. :)

I've started The Secret Adversary. Never read a Tommy & Tuppence before.

I've just started Appointment With Death and I am loving it! I knew I would, since I especially love the ones that are set in the Middle East, and, of course I love Poirot and his little grey cells!

Mama Boynton is pure evil!!! *Shudder*

I love the solution to Appointment with Death. It's very satisfying.

I'm reading my first Miss Marple, The Body in the Library.

Oh that's a good one.

I finished The Mystery of the Blue Train a couple of days ago. This one takes place in London, Paris and the Riviera and has a solid plot. Poirot comes in rather later than usual.

The Mysterious Mr Quin. I think Christie's short stories are undervalued...they are some of her most poignant stuff. I also like the things she did under was it Mary Westmacott...I'm thinking of the one about the Gun Man.

I've just started Crooked House, and am quite enjoying it!

I started out the year 2012 reading The Secret Adversary. Its been a long time since I read an Agatha Christie novel. I missed it!

I've finished The A.B.C. Murders. It's different from many Christie plots, as Poirot himself points out, they are dealing with a stranger going about England killing victims he doesn't know, rather than her more usual "keep it in the family" mystery.

I'm reading the Pale Horse , i really like it. I love Ariadne Oliver, I think it's a really good character.

I love Ariadne Oliver, too. In general, I prefer Christie's female detectives. Miss Marple, of course, but I wish there had been more Tuppence stories.

I have started A.B.C. Murders today. I have not yet read many Poirot novels yet, but this one started off very well. Maybe I can even like him more than Miss Marple?

I'm currently listening to Murder on the Links narrated by Hugh Fraser.

Just finished Come, Tell me How You Live. Really enjoyed it. Tells of her trips with archeologist husband Max Mallowan from the first trip they took through the final one before WWII.

I read my first Agath Christie novel hesitantly in December last year. I wasn't keen on the mystery genre so I was prepared to be bored. Well I loved it! I read Murder at the Vicarage the first Miss Marple mystery and I am now up to number seven A Pocket Full of Rye. I intend to keep reading until I've read them all however long that may take!

Crooked House was one of Christie's favourite books

I currently listen to A Carribean Mystery, a Miss Marple mystery. I'm in chapter ten now and finding it amusing and interesting, but it's not that gripping actually. But I've always gt that with audio books.

LOVE Hugh Frasier. Sometimes when he does Poirot , I can't tell him apart from David Suchet.
I recently finished an audio book of N or M? read by James Warwick (Tommy Beresford). I always enjoy it when the reader has played the part on film/TV. It helps with the visualization.

Finishing up The Grand Tour by Agathat Christie's grandson. It consists of excerpts from her autobiography to introduce cards, letters and photographs that follow her trip around the Commonwealth with a trade commission that she took with her first husband in 1922. Delightful.

66, 67> I read Come Tell Me How You Live last fall. Pretty good for a purchase from an airport bookstore :-). I THINK it was on my TBR list before, not sure. Archie Christie has a lot to answer for. I thought that in The Grand Tour, Agatha Christie was so much more light hearted and confident than she was in her autobiography or in Come Tell me How You Live. Maybe it's just me, though. I'll be interested to hear what others think.
