I almost without exception believe everything I read on SDMB. Especially book recommendations. Because of the support of A Suitable Boy, I have gotten it for Christmas.
I am an avid reader, I have well over 1k books and am trying to get them entered into LibraryThing. I have many very old books that predate UPC, ISBN and Library of Congress, I've gotten most of them in and suprisingly found either the exact edition or a very similar one in the databases. I do have about 5 I have to hand enter (out of 200 so far, not too shabby)
I bought a cue cat years ago and of course, can't find it now, but that will be more helpful once I get to the UPC books.
Librarything doesn't seem to do too well with "books you wanna read" quite yet, but I figure that is probably going to be implemented soon. I like having an easy way to look for books that folks like you suggest.

Hey! At SDMB I am Sassy - just to be clear you don't have interlopers. I have a tag here for wish list, which I use for things I want to read but have not yet acquired. Right now I have about a third of my books cataloged and am chipping away at the rest.

I ordered a buncha books from bn.com resellers, of course, the book I want to read Trinity last came first.
