Another book I am terribly eager to find - Golem: Jewish Magical and Mystical Traditions on the Artificial Anthropoid by Moshe Idel, published by SUNY in 1990 and now out of print. If anyone can help, I'd be enormously grateful. I have already tried bookfinder and abe and alibris and amazon and all the other online booksearch places. Also tried the publisher. Anyway, if you see it and would let me know or even pick it up for me, I'd be very happy. I'm willing to pay a pretty decent sum for it as I am so tired of looking for it.

You might try http://www.danwymanbooks.com/. if he doesn't have it in his online catalog, call him. he might be able track it down for you.

I couldn't find it on ebay but you might try saving a search for it in case it comes up. i really wish bookfinder let you save searches.

Sounds like something worth tracking down. If I find it, I'll give you first dibs. ;)

Finally found it! After months and months of searching. And wouldn't you know it, after months of absolutely nothing on bookfinder, all of a sudden 3 separate copies turn up on amazon. Strange. It's a wonderfully interesting book, I must say. I am terribly glad I found it at last.

Congrats!! Too bad it's so expensive - I wouldn't mind picking up a copy myself, but it's a bit beyond my budget right now...

hope you will post a review or a post- it sounds like a fascinating subject one that Ozick and others have depicted.
