What do you think about the books connected with the paintings by Jan Vermeer and about the artist itself?

"View of Delft" and "Girl with pearl earring" are my favourite paintings by Vermeer.

The book titled Vermeer: A view of Delft was pretty fascinating ... especially the discussion about whether he used a camera obscura to make his pictures seem so realistic ... in a similar vein, I've got Vermeer's Camera on my shelf, but haven't read it yet ...

I just finished reading The Music Lesson which has a Vermeer scholar involved with a stolen painting. The book mentions other Vermeers including some in the Frick, Isabella Stewart Gardiner museum and the National Gallery. It was enjoyable looking up the various paintings even though the plot was not that compelling.
