I'm so glad that this group I created actually has some members! I'm gradually working through the members who list their location as California and sending out invites.

Those who have come by and joined -- welcome and thank you!

The used book store topic was a great idea! Thanks for adding it!

Pam

Don't know if this group still has active members or not, but I just found it through the "group recommendation" app that Tim just installed. Hoping to hear some good Californian booktalk. ;)

Maybe we could try and organize a California book read - something by a Californian author or taking place in California. One that jumps to mind is Allende's Daughter of Fortune. Even though it starts off in Chile most of it takes place in California. Steinbeck is an easy pick, too. (Please not Patterson's Women's Mystery Group series, though.) We could post messages in some of the busier forum's message boards to try and attract more members, too.

How about Ramona? Not only about California, but a work important to California's history.

There is a good list of California authors at http://www.calwriters.org/assets/PDF/Cal_Writers_Week_poster.pdf
Maybe we could compile a list and try to read as many of the authors as we can (as a group or individually)
