Hello BookCrossing Library-Things:
I just listed my first book and the site asked for a BCID (I think). Okay to list it? I don't want the whole BCID to show on the site. Thanks.

Couldn't figure out if I could edit my 1st post to say I'm solittletime in BookCrossing, but that name was already taken, so I'm just plain slt here.

Hi, slt! Yes, it's okay. The whole BCID will only show for you.
(P.S. I'm mojosmom on BC. Welcome!)
Oh, and yes, you can edit your posts. Just click on the pencil icon next to the post.

Hi solittletime! It's so great to have you here. I'm SqueakyChu on BookCrossing as well.
There are *tons* of things to do here on LibraryThing. Hope you find it as much fun as I do. LibraryThing has literally dragged me away from the Bookcrossing site, although I'm very much active in my local BC group, BC in DC.
ETA: One of the best things about LT is that it complements BC so well. Hope you find the same about it.

And I am TheoClarke on BookCrossing, where I also manage the Ipswich Greyhound OBCZ. Here on LT I have a bookcrossing collection and tag all my bookcrossing books (guessing the name of the tag is an exercise for the reader).

Hi TheoClarke!
I "know" you from linking Abebooks to LT venues. :) Glad to discover another Bookcrosser here that I "know"!
I don't tag my Bookcrossing books here because I get rid of them after I read them. I do, however, always include their BCID while they are in my LT collections. I always have a record of them on my various challenges, book reviews here on LT, and on Bookcrossing itself. I basically use LT for my TBR and permanent collections and BC for the books I've finished and are moving on.

LibraryThing is becoming the repository for all the books with which I have interacted so my bookcrossing collection is an adjunct to Read but unowned. Different strokes ...

Hi slt/solittletime! I'm on bookcrossing as tqd.
If you're asked to enter your BCID into Library Thing, that's okay. You'll see the full number (eg, 123-1234567), but we'll only see the public number with the private bit hidden (eg, xxx-1234567). But we do get a link to the book on bookcrossing, which is nice.
