Footnotes, endnote and a bibliography are absolutely critical to a 'good' book, especially if it's an historical or herbal one. Any witch worth their salt WILL check their facts, and I don't mean just on Wikipedia!!! As I become more familiar with trustworthy sources, I can look for them in the notes of new publications when browsing. Recently I was really surprised to read someone criticising Janet and Stewart Farrar's A Witch's Bible. I've never been wiccan, but I have a copy and always took it to be a good source for those interested in that path, so my jaw dropped when I read this person saying they didn't know what they were talking about!!! I'll have to dig up the source again...

I've heard a number of criticisms in relation to A Witches Bible by Janet Farrar, mostly by initiated Wicca.
