List of books I remember having read from the title. A bit tricky though, as I have read some Grimm and some Perrault of course, and I have probably read some of the stories in different versions (Stone Soup is about what I think it is, I presume?). And I have read Richard Scarry though cannot recall if I have read that exact book...

66, better than I thought! And considering that i am still missing stuff like Roald Dahl children books, Wind in the Willows and the like, shouldn't be too hard to expand from here...

I wasn't sure about Grimm and other fairytales either. I know I've read The Ugly Duckling for example, but I'm not sure if it's the exact version. I wasn't sure about Richard Scarry as well. I didn't mark them read, just to be sure.
Starting with Roald Dahl it shouldn't be hard to expand. Good luck!

...and let's see if I can get the rest of the books touchstoned correctly, for those who are curious:

Moomin, Mymble and Little My
Uppo-Nalle
Petit Nicolas
Les schtroumpfs noirs
Arabian Nights
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
Arizona
Gaston
Mortadelo y Filemon
Watership Down
When the Wind Blows
The Nonexistent Knight
The Summer Book

Yay, found them all! or almost, couple refuse to show up...

The Andersen ones I know I had read from the book labeled as "Fairytales of H.C. Andersen" or something like that...but there are indeed some dodgy ones.

Ok, found one where the English title was completely unrecognizable as I had read the translation, but I happened to look at the description...

575. From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler

I got a copy of the book and at least for the moment found no new books I just didn't recognize, though there was a bunch of "oh, I have read another book by that author", "so it's that book I have seen but not read" and "I've seen that referenced but did not know what book it was".

And on the side, couple of entries more:

BFG by Dahl I started as a translation but noticed it relies too much on wordplay, I think I'll return to it when I come across a copy in English.

Mary Poppins was interesting. I of course like the movie and the nanny in the book definitely isn't Julie Andrews...but this version was fascinating too.

Some more:

Pippi Longstockings, a Lindgren book I had somehow missed so far...

The Graveyard Book, a fine novel by Gaiman, possibly his best (compared to his short stories and comics, I have been a bit underwhelmed by his novels though)

Utterly Me, Clarice Bean LMAO

Couple more waiting on my TBR list...

Agnes Cecilia...I have read one Maria Gripe book before, Tordyveln flyger i skymningen and this one has quite a lot in common, rather weird ghost story where rather few overtly supernatural events take place but there is a weird atmosphere.
This one put much more emphasis on the ghost story, about a girl who feels a presence of something in a house she lives in, and starts exploring what has happened to a girl living there a long time ago. The amount of weird coincidences this book has is already a good reason to suspect supernatural guidance...

There is also a good amount of exploring the theme of foster care, even while there is little actually wrong with the life of the main character (orphan living with relatives) she still goes through emotions of distance, not really belonging and being but a charity case...
Great book, highly recommended (as is that other Gripe book I mentioned.

Oh, let's update...this hasn't been any priority, but I have managed to get a couple more:

73. The Owl Service
74. Only You Can Save Mankind
75. The Wolves of Willoughby Chase
76. Comet in Moominland
77. The Wind in the Willows
78. Where the Wild Things Are

All good, btw, especially that Owl Service.
